Recently, I have had many people come up to me and ask, "What is 'fiore,' and why is part of your business name?" Well, I'll let you all in on the story behind my inspiration and the naming of my company.
When I was a senior at Oklahoma State University, I thought that I would never leave the country because I was happy being in familiar surroundings. However, my advisor constantly urged me to take the opportunity to travel while I was still a student. Still, I was reluctant. A very dear friend of mine, whom had been on many trips abroad, told me that I should really reconsider my thoughts on traveling overseas. So, I set into motion the arrangements for me to travel to Norway with a group of students in the late summer. This trip did not go through due to time constraints and a lack of participation on behalf of the students. I had made up my mind that I was going to go somewhere, so I kept searching. Fortunately, I found a professor who was preparing to take a group of students to Italy just as soon as school let out in May, and he had two more spots open. I jumped at the chance and scrapped up enough money to buy a last minute plane ticket bound for Milan, Italy.

Mona Lisa's Bridge
I spent fourteen remarkable days in the beautiful country of Italy exploring the thriving tourists must-sees and the roads less-traveled through the Italian countryside from Milan to Venice and Florence to Rome. The thing that struck me the most about the culture of the people was the tranquil nature of everything that they did. It seemed like I was standing in the middle of a slow-motion movie frame. I had never felt such a calm in my life. Everywhere I looked people where happy. My observations suggested that the happiness of the people was caused by a centering of everyday life around family and friends. Meals were gatherings of closest loved ones where people stayed and visited for hours on end without rushing off to do something else. Freshness was key to everything from food to the flowers that were, so commonly, purchased anew everyday and taken home to adorn the family's table.

These feelings of love for life and family are ones that I hope to convey in the services that I provide any couple and their families in the preparations for the uniting of the two families into one. Freshness and quality of flowers will be of the upmost importance, for I wish for you to truly know who it feels to have the very best.
Fiore (fee-or-ee) is the Italian word for flower, and it is a marker for many merchants throughout the whole of Italy. It is proudly displayed above the entrances to their shops, and I hope to display it with as much pride and style as they do.
